.The House of Faith Event February 9, 2014
The House of Faith event was a fun-filled afternoon! Thank you for your presence there. We got to share experiences and design ideal neighborhood! The House of Faith is an initiative with Habitat for Humanity sponsored by faith groups including the Muslim Coalition of Connecticut. It is an opportunity for people of faith to come together to build a home and meet those from diverse faith traditions! The house build site is 271 Laurel Street, Hartford, CT.
This was the second event to bring awareness about the House of Faith and was at the Berlin Mosque, Islamic Association of Greater Hartford, 1781 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, CT 06037. This time the theme was neighborhood and the focus audience was primarily the youth of our communities. We had over 100 attendees. If you would like to attend the next event in April or build with us (building should start some time in March) please contact us. Thank you to the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford for hosting the event, Don Shaw and Lydia Avrett of Habitat,Susan Campbell, Sara Salomons, Risa Sugarman, Nancy Rion, Carole Fay and Donna Mannochio. Thank you also to Mohamed AbdulKadir for his beautiful recitation of the Qur'an, to Shanza Hussain for translating and to Ali Hussain for his reflections.
Thank you also to all those who volunteered to set up and greet the guests attending. It was a wonderful afternoon!
