Program Director Position, Muslim Coalition of Connecticut
Description

The function of the Program Director is to coordinate projects, oversee daily operations and market events and work closely with the President.  The Program
Director should employ positive interpersonal skills to highlight programs while representing our organization in a professional manner. 
The ideal candidate will also fundraise, prepare grants and network with communities throughout the state.
 
Responsibilities
The Program Director will be responsible for ensuring the success of programs and initiatives and oversee the daily activities of the organization. 
The Program Director will liaise with program chairs, attend general and some committee meetings, implement timelines, set measurable goals and monitor
progress. Additionally, the Program Director will maintain the calendar of events, secure event speakers and vendors, respond to calls and e-mails, extend invitations and follow-up correspondence, keep the website current and respond to media inquiries.  
  
Education 
The minimum educational requirement for this  position is a bachelor’s degree. 

Salary and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working with a non-profit organization in project management and event planning. The salary for the Program Director position will be $15,000, commensurate with experience. This half time position requires an average of 20 hours per week. 

Skills
The Program Director is expected to have effective organizational, communication and leadership skills. Organization is important because it will be up to the Program Director to ensure that all duties are assigned and that the duties assigned are completed. Communication and interpersonal skills are important because it is the responsibility for the Program director to engage the community and its volunteers. Having the ability to know how to talk to people and motivate them to work are important elements of that responsibility. the Program Director should be able to work well individually as well as within a group.
